Remembering our Founder Mrs. Anne Marden, BBS, MBE, JP - A God sent Angel
We are deeply saddened by the passing of our founder and patron Mrs. Anne Marden on 31st May 2022 at her age of ninety six.
Anne, who was married to the late John Marden, “Taipan” of preeminent trading conglomerate Wheelock Marden and Co. Ltd., was an outstanding philanthropist. She established Rehabaid Society in 1979 and had been overseeing the management of Rehabaid Society for many years.
Anne always motivated and inspired us by her wisdom, love and selfless efforts to help the needy. She had a heart of gold which touched the hearts of many in Hong Kong. We, at Rehabaid, are the witnesses of her good deeds. Whatever she did, she did with affection and never for personal recognition.
No words can describe how grateful we are at Rehabaid, for her love, support, inspiration and leadership. Without Anne’s vision, Rehabaid Society would not have existed for over 40 years, to bring people with disabilities out into the society, to enhance their quality of life and strengthening their capacity for independent living.
We have the highest admiration and respect for Anne who is always so genuine, sincere, gracious, kind, full of love and wisdom and very down to earth.
Anne has helped thousands with special needs to lead a dignified and meaningful life. Indeed, Anne has led the most meaningful life of mankind herself. Anne is a perfect example of how a person can live beyond her life! The spirit she demonstrated would never be forgotten. Anne forever lives in our hearts and in our souls!
