Falls are one of the main causes of fractures, patients with osteoporosis should avoid falls as much as possible. Most fall accidents occur at home or institutions. Therefore, attention should be paid to the safety of the home environment to reduce the risk of falls for the elderly.

 

Furniture

Furniture such as beds, chairs, and sofas should be of a suitable height so that the foot of the elderly can touch the ground when sitting. When sitting, your hips should be slightly higher than your knees. This is the best sitting posture to protect your spine.

Chairs with wheels, foldable chairs, and short stools can easily cause falls and are not suitable for elderly to sit on. A stable chair should be chosen instead.
